Our Mission
At Wicomico Day School, we provide programs for students in a positive and nurturing atmosphere that emphasizes intellectual, social, emotional, cultural, creative, and physical growth. Our educational environment is one where students are treated with respect in order to learn respect. We are committed to guiding children from six weeks through 8th grade in ways that allow them to develop their talents, build confidence, and participate in diverse activities that challenge the mind, body, and spirit.
Guiding Principles
- Emotional Growth: Foster independence, confidence, and curiosity in a calm, supportive atmosphere.
- Social Growth: Encourage respect, responsibility, and collaboration within our school community.
- Intellectual Growth: Promote exploration, problem-solving, and critical thinking through a rich, well-rounded curriculum.
- Physical Development: Build strength, coordination, and healthy habits through active play and outdoor learning.
- Creative Development: Inspire imagination and appreciation for art, music, and culture.
A Tradition of Excellence
Since 1990, Wicomico Day School has built a close-knit community rooted in respect, curiosity, and academic excellence. Our dedicated teachers cultivate a love of learning that prepares students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the 21st century.
Looking Ahead
Guided by our five-year strategic plan, Wicomico Day School continues to grow while honoring our legacy. Our focus includes seven key areas vital to student success: safety, curriculum, professional development, teaching, technology, finance, admissions, and marketing. Together, these priorities ensure that WDS students leave our school equipped with 21st-century skills such as collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and creativity.
We invite you to visit and experience the warmth, energy, and excellence that make Wicomico Day School a special place. Thank you for considering us as a partner in your child’s educational journey.
