Sarah joined WDS as a substitute teacher in 2025.  She began substitute teaching because she enjoys working with children and being part of their learning journey. She values the opportunity to work with students of different ages, backgrounds, and subject areas, as each day brings new experiences and challenges. The fast-paced and ever-changing nature of teaching across multiple grade levels keeps the work engaging and rewarding. This year, she is especially excited to begin teaching Spanish to students in grades K3 through 8th grade and looks forward to fostering a love of language and culture in her classroom.  Sarah is the proud mother of two WDS students — Rosie and Maverick.  Her favorite season is fall, and she loves anything and everything spooky!

Mr. Edson has taught Physical Education and Health at WDS, since 2023.  He has served in the Navy and specialized in Aviation Electronics. If you look closely, you will see him in our local sports community serving as a coach and a referee in his spare time. 

Teresa studied at Salisbury University before joining WDS over twenty years ago.  Prior to joining WDS, she taught at a parochial school for five years.  In addition to being involved with local organizations, Teresa has been a presenter at several Core Knowledge National Conventions throughout the United States.  She is an avid traveler and has visited twelve countries, exploring their art museums, art fairs, and taking part in their local customs.  She happily brings this knowledge back to share with her students.  In her spare time, she creates art for local galleries on the Eastern Shore.  

Amanda Miles is in her third year of teaching Music to students in K3 through 3rd grade. Before becoming the Music teacher, she worked in the preschool hallways beginning in 2010. Amanda has two children, Nick and Nora, who are proud alumni of WDS.

Susan is a Delmarva native and a graduate of Wicomico High School with a lifelong love of music. Inspired by the profound impact her own music studies had on her life, she has dedicated herself to sharing that joy and learning with others. She earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Music from Goucher College and continued her postgraduate studies in Vocal Performance and Pedagogy at The Boston Conservatory.

Susan began her teaching career at Wicomico Day School from 2000 to 2005 and was thrilled to return in 2023 after years of teaching Music and Choir throughout the Eastern Shore and operating her own private music education business. Returning to Wicomico Day School has been especially meaningful, as it is where her teaching journey first began.
 

Michael Allen teaches Computer Technology for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade. He is currently in his third year at WDS and enjoys both teaching and learning alongside his students. Michael values building strong relationships with families and encourages parents to reach out via email with any questions. He appreciates your continued support and looks forward to another great year.

Mary VanBuskirk has been teaching at WDS since 2009.  She has taught grades K5, 2nd, and 5th grade. She is excited to become the new Academic Intervenionist this year.  She enjoys spending time with her son, Will, and her two dogs!

Patsy has worked for WDS since 2012.  You will see Ms. Patsy making healthy snacks for our children and keeping our daily logistics in order. You will also see Ms. Patsy supporting our families at early morning drop off.
